tier 3-intensive, individual interventions
Eligible for Special Education Services under IDEA 2004
|
Students who still have difficulty in mastering necessary academic and/or behavioral skills in Tiers I and II receive intensive individualized services in Tier III. Students receive intensive and highly-focused intentional research-based instruction, possibly over a long period of time. These students undergo a more formal diagnostic evaluation. Comprehensive evaluation is conducted by a multidisciplinary team to determine eligibility for special education and related services. Evaluation uses multiple sources of assessment data, which may include data from standardized and norm referenced measures, observations made by parents, students, and teachers, and data collected from Tiers I and II (Pierangelo & Giuliani, 2012, p.88-89).
