SPECIAL EDUCATION PROFESSIONAL ETHICAL PRINCIPLES
core values
|
It is a desired characteristic for all professionals to willingly abide by a set of ethical principles. For special educators even more so because they are trusted by the community and the families of exceptional children. Special educators are bound to the CEC Code of Ethics and it is their duty to implement these in the special education setting. Special educators guide their practice through these principles and measure themselves and their colleagues professional excellence by such fundamental standards. It is imperative that special educators abide by the CEC Code of Ethics on a daily basis (what every special educator should know, 2009, p.1).
